The catalogue reaches 35 tools
Nineteen of the thirty-five never send the document anywhere: they do the work inside the browser, on the visitor's own machine. The other sixteen need a server because the job cannot be done any other way, and each tool page says which kind it is.
Eight new tools at once
Redact, PDF to Markdown, scan with a phone camera, compare two documents, fill forms, summarise with citations, translate, and extract pages. Seven of the eight run in the browser.
PDF ARENA, one workspace instead of five round trips
Load a file once, reorder, rotate, delete and export once. Until then every edit meant a separate upload and a separate download.
Project facts
Thirty-five PDF tools in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi. Tools and written guides alike — not an interface translated over English documentation.
Nineteen of those tools never send your document anywhere. They open it with pdf-lib or pdf.js inside the browser tab, work on it there and hand back the result. The remaining sixteen need something a browser cannot do alone, and for those the file travels over HTTPS, gets processed and is deleted within the hour.
On the server: LibreOffice for Office conversions, Ghostscript for compression, pikepdf, qpdf and mutool for repair, OCRmyPDF, which drives Tesseract, for OCR, and DeepSeek for the three tools that read a document rather than move its pages.
Nothing requires an account, and nothing can be bought: no paid tier exists, so no feature is being held back to fill one. The upload ceiling is 100 MB on the server tools and 10 MB on the three that use AI.
The site publishes its own limits, including the awkward ones: which tools cannot batch, which permissions you do not get to choose, and which three send text outside the European Economic Area.
