1. Who provides the service

TotalPDF Kit is provided by the owner of this site, operating from Spain.

You can reach the owner through the contact form, which is the published channel for notices, complaints and requests. The reply comes from an address at this domain.

2. What the service is

A set of tools for working with PDF documents, free to use and with no compulsory registration. Some run entirely in your browser and others process the file on our servers; the privacy policy spells out which is which.

The service is offered as it stands at any given moment. We may add, change or withdraw tools, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: this is held up by advertising and donations, not by a fee that entitles you to a service level.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the tools for any lawful purpose, personal or professional. There is no need to ask permission or to credit the source.

There are things you may not do, and one of them is worth underlining.

• Use the unprotect tool only on documents you own or ones you have express authorisation for. Getting round the protection on someone else's document may be unlawful, and the responsibility lies with whoever does it.
• Do not upload illegal content, material that infringes third-party rights, or documents holding other people's personal data without a basis for processing it.
• Do not try to reach parts of the system that are not public, do not probe it, and do not interfere with how the service runs.
• Do not automate use of the tools at scale or resell the service as if it were yours.
• Do not click the ads artificially or ask anyone else to. Besides being banned by the terms of our advertising network, it puts the funding of the site at risk.

4. Your documents are yours

We acquire no rights over the files you upload. You authorise us only to process them in order to do what you asked, and for as long as that takes.

You are responsible for having the right to handle the documents you upload and for keeping your own copies. We are not a storage service and we keep nothing beyond the published periods.

5. What is ours

The name, the logo, the design and the code of the site belong to its owner. You may use the service, not copy it.

The third-party libraries we use keep their own licences.

6. Advertising and donations

The site shows advertising. We do not control the specific content of the ads the advertising network serves, and their appearance does not mean we endorse what is advertised.

Donations are voluntary, give no right to any extra functionality and, barring a billing error, are non-refundable. Supporter subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your PayPal account.

7. Liability

We take care to make the tools work, but we cannot guarantee the result will be correct in every case or fit for the purpose you have in mind. Always check the resulting document before using it for anything important.

We are not liable for the loss of documents you have not kept a copy of yourself, nor for indirect damage or loss of profit.

None of the above limits your liability or ours in anything the law does not allow to be excluded, nor does it affect the rights consumer law gives you if you are acting as a consumer.

8. Suspension

We may restrict or suspend access for anyone who breaks these conditions or puts the service at risk for everyone else. Where it is reasonable, we will give notice first.

9. Changes

We may amend these conditions. The date in the header shows the latest version, and carrying on using the service after a change means accepting it.

10. Governing law

Spanish law applies. If you are acting as a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live and you keep every right granted to you by the law of your country of residence in the European Union.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025, so there is no European single window any more. As a consumer you can go to the consumer authority of the country you live in, and you can always write first through the contact form: a complaint that can be settled between us saves everyone the trip.
